Dog days of summer overview

Dog days of summer starts from 26th June 2022. 21st June of the Gregorian calendar is the 10th solar term of the lunar calendar, it is called summer solstice, which is the beginning of summer in the northern hemisphere.

On this day, the sun is at 90 degrees of the ecliptic, and the sun shines directly on the tropic of cancer. The day in the northern hemisphere is longest.

Dog days are called sanfu period in China. The dog days are different every year. In year 2022, the first period of dog days start from 16th July, end at 25th July, totally is 10 days.

The second period of dog days is from 26th July to 14th August, totally is 20 days.

The last period of dog days is from 15th August to 24 August, totally is 10 days.
